Fake profile removal: take down accounts using your photos
Someone is using your photos as their own account. Pick the platform to see how we find and remove it.
A fake profile is an account that uses your photos to pass as you: to scam followers, redirect fans to someone else's paid link, or hold conversations in your name. It rarely uses your real name, so searching for yourself does not find it.
Finding profiles by face
Noticeora matches the faces in public profile photos against a reference built from photos and videos you control, so an account is found even under a different name, handle or bio. Matches are reviewed before anything is reported.
Reporting through the right channel
Each platform has its own impersonation policy and reporting flow, and the right report depends on what the account does. If you own the copyright in the photos, a DMCA report can be filed as well, and fabricated intimate images fall under the TAKE IT DOWN Act. The legal options decision tree helps work out which applies. For voice cloning and ad scams, see AI impersonation removal.

Fake profile or deepfake? Pick the report
The report depends on what the account actually does.
- An account using your real photos to pass as you. This is impersonation. Each platform has an impersonation report, covered below.
- The same account also reposts your own photos or videos. You can add a DMCA notice, because you made them.
- The account posts fabricated intimate images of you. These fall under the TAKE IT DOWN Act and the platform's rules on non-consensual intimate imagery; see deepfake removal.
Reporting routes by platform
- Facebook. Facebook has an impersonation report. Reporting it is said to need you, or someone authorised to act for you, plus a link to the profile and ID, and it can be used without an account. See Facebook fake profile removal.
- Instagram. Instagram has an impersonation form that also covers Threads. See Instagram fake profile removal.
- Reddit. Reddit handles impersonation through its Report flow, and its rules on non-consensual intimate media apply if the account posts images of you. See Reddit fake profile removal.
- X. X handles impersonation as an account report, and its non-consensual nudity policy covers AI-generated media. See X fake profile removal.
The steps in these reports change, so check each platform's own help page before you file.
Evidence to keep
- The profile URL and handle, and a dated screenshot of the bio and posts.
- What the account does: messages it sent, links it posts, who it contacted.
- Your original photos, so you can show where the images came from.
- Any reports you have already filed, with dates.
Example (illustrative, not a real case)
A creator's followers tell them that an account with a near-identical handle is messaging fans with a link to someone else's page. They save the profile URL and screenshots of the messages, file an impersonation report on that platform, and ask the platform to check for further accounts using the same photos. The report is about the account and what it does; the face-based scan is what finds accounts under other names.
